For hygienist Alejandra Díaz, dentistry runs in the family. Her younger sister just graduated from dental hygiene school, and her older sister is the manager at a dental office in Queens. “We all got involved around the same time,” she says, “and we all floss!”
Her goal is to make you as comfortable as possible, which for her means ample communication. “I think a lot of people in dentistry now don't take the time to explain what's going on, but I explain every little thing I'm doing. Education is so big for me, especially since dentistry can have such a big impact on your overall health."
And she's not just here for your cleaning, she's in it for the long haul. “The point of coming to see us is achieving your best possible oral health. We're going to take those steps together, and even though I may only see you twice a year, I'll be able to see your progress. I'm here for you every step of the way.”
