Most people either loved going to the dentist as a kid—or absolutely hated it. Where did you fall? How come?

As a kid, braces were not as cool as they are today. So imagine me — 12-years-old, wearing glasses, 6-ft tall with braces. Not too many great memories!

(Funny thing, I still get nervous about being a patient.)

What (or who) inspired you to get into dentistry? How so?

I became inspired by my own dental experiences. The end result was so rewarding, but I wanted to change everything in between. When I was young, I didn't get the "patient-centered care" or oral hygiene education. My philosophy is to provide all my patients with knowledge and resources so they feel empowered and 100% in control of their overall health.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

Supporting my patients and seeing their (beautiful) smiles!

What’s your dream toothpaste flavor?

Strawberry ice cream with Reese's peanut butter cups.

In another life, if you weren’t working in dentistry, what would you be doing?

Professional volleyball player

When I’m in the patient chair, I’m probably grooving to {blank} in my headphones.

What’s something that really, really, really makes you smile? Like, really?

My twin boys!!
