Originally from Stuttgart, Germany, Dr. Manuela Krahn actually worked in hospitality and tourism before transitioning into a career in dentistry. “I was working with luxury hotels,” she says, “and I helped organize an event at one hotel for an implantology course for like 400 dentists. And when I saw them placing implants, that’s kind of when I realized I wanted to become a dentist.”

Communication is Dr. Krahn’s specialty—and she can do it in 4 languages. “Coming to dentistry, my hospitality background helped me a lot. My interactions with patients are really important to me. Building long-lasting relationships where my patients look forward to seeing me, that really makes me very happy.”

And when it comes to dental procedures, Dr. Krahn is confident she can make the process as pain-free as possible. “I’m pretty well-known for giving a dental injection that’s nearly painless,” she says. “Some patients, when I tell them that they smile and laugh, because they don’t believe it. But by the time I’m done, their response is always like, ‘I didn’t feel a thing!’”
