What (or who) inspired you to get into dentistry? How so?

Truthfully, neutral. I knew it was necessary; it never hurt. I was more anxious about getting a "shot" (vaccinations). Unfortunately, going to the dentist was a sterile experience, neither the dentist nor the auxiliary staff were conversational. I went to a general dentist, not a Periodontist so that may have been the difference.

What (or who) inspired you to get into dentistry? How so?

A series of events...I'm the eldest and was appointed the position of pulling out baby teeth that my siblings could not stomach to pull out. I used floss. I have progressed from those days, education and certification helps. I use anesthetic and forceps now.

I had a day care teacher- Miss Pam, whom had a crown pop off and it was intriguing to see what I now know as a crown prep. She glued her crown back in with superglue. I don't know how long stayed or adhered to the prep.

I had a uncle who on a visit, slipped out his teeth into a clear glass, which shocked me. I couldn't do that with my teeth! I was told not to stare, it was rude and he was once a prisoner of war. Quite honestly, periodontal disease can make anyone a prisoner for sure, what company can you keep with halitosis. It's these quirky stories and my great interest in doing good, providing services that would be joy and relief to all I meet.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

The totality of the experience. The member experience of having their chief concern met with efficiency, and ease. The supportive clinical staff feeling valued and contributory in the process of the member experience.

What famous person (alive or dead) is your dream dental patient? Why?

Cleopatra... who wouldn't want to provide dental treatment on a famous monarch!

What’s your dream toothpaste flavor?

Rosewater concoction, no texture, must be smooth.

What’s something your patients might be surprised to learn about you?

I like to quad roller skate

What dental stereotype are you most passionate about changing?

The dentist will judge you based on your teeth...

What is the absolute coolest thing about the human mouth?

In another life, if you weren’t working in dentistry, what would you be doing?

When I’m in the patient chair, I’m probably grooving to {blank} in my headphones.

Mohammed Ramadan

What’s something that really, really, really makes you smile? Like, really?
