Most people either loved going to the dentist as a kid—or absolutely hated it. Where did you fall? How come? I remember loving the smell of the dental office as a kid, and being excited because my parents would give my sister and I a treat after.
What (or who) inspired you to get into dentistry? How so? My neighbor inspired me to get into dentistry. She is a dental hygienist, and had asked me if I could assist during my summer break. I was 18 years old and didn't even know dental hygiene was an occupation. I assisted the doctor most of the day, and both he and my neighbor encouraged me to pursue a degree in dental hygiene.
What’s the most rewarding part of your job? The most rewarding part of my job is treating patients who were previously dental phobic, and helping people improve their dental hygiene.
What famous person (alive or dead) is your dream dental patient? Why? Angelina Jolie is my dream dental patient because she is a great actress and has the most beautiful smile!
What’s your dream toothpaste flavor? (Be as SPECIFIC as possible. For example: “Banana split, hold the cherries, add sprinkles.”) Mango-blueberry flavor.
__What’s something your patients might be surprised to learn about you? (For example: “I was a cheerleader for four years in high school!” or “I have 17 cats!” or “My hidden talent is: ____”) My hidden talent is gardening. Last year my sunflowers grew up to six feet tall, and this year it appears they will grow that tall again!
How do you recharge after a long week? What’s your go-to activity for hitting the restart button? A good workout at the gym, a nice dinner with my significant other, and a nap mid-Sunday helps me restart for the week.
