Most people either loved going to the dentist as a kid—or absolutely hated it. Where did you fall? How come?
I never had a bad experience at the dentist! Never had a cavity as a kid, so my trips to the dentist were always pleasant. I also remembered how my teeth felt slick and polished after each hygiene visit.
What (or who) inspired you to get into dentistry? How so?
I loved biology, health, and art. I was very detail-oriented and good at working with small things. I also love interacting with people and helping them when I can.
What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
Seeing the instant results after performing a prophy on a patient and gaining their trust in providing exceptional care.
What famous person (alive or dead) is your dream dental patient? Why?
George Washington. So I could educate and help prevent him from loosing all of his teeth! He always complained about his teeth hurting him.
What’s your dream toothpaste flavor?
Mojito, light on the rum
What’s something your patients might be surprised to learn about you?
I have an identical twin brother and scuba dived all over the world, including the Bay of Pigs in Cuba!
How do you recharge after a long week? What’s your go-to activity for hitting the restart button?
A nice hike or reading a book at the beach.
What dental stereotype are you most passionate about changing?
Pain and distrust.
In another life, if you weren’t working in dentistry, what would you be doing?
Physician Assistant or Paramedic or Artist
What is the absolute coolest thing about the human mouth?
Over 700 different species of bacteria can live in someone's mouth.
