Most people either loved going to the dentist as a kid—or absolutely hated it. Where did you fall? How come?

I absolutely loved going to the dentist! My mom bought me my own supply of toothpaste and floss. The rest of the family shared toothpaste and floss.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

I just love when the patients follow my advice and they’re now excited about their hygiene.

What’s something your patients might be surprised to learn about you?

I completely a triathlon in 2019! It was swimming, biking, and running! I learned to swim 6 months before the competition! I’m very competitive! I placed 3rd in my age group!

How do you recharge after a long week? What’s your go-to activity for hitting the restart button?

I really love working out. It actually relaxes my mind and body!

What dental stereotype are you most passionate about changing?

A lot of people say pain comes to mind when they think of getting a cleaning! One lady told me she’d rather be in labor or have a Pap smear. I told her that if her gums were healthy it wouldn’t bleed, hurt, or be a dreadful event. So let’s work on getting the gum tissue healthier. This patient is my OB GYN! She only lets me clean her teeth now!

In another life, if you weren’t working in dentistry, what would you be doing?

A fly on the wall!
