Hygienist Leydi Gomez has a natural talent for setting people at ease. “I’m not shy at all,” she says with a laugh. “I make people laugh, I break the ice. I think that’s my power.”
Leydi is originally from Bogotá, Colombia, and it was her mother who first got her interested in dentistry: “She used to take me to the dentist every three months, and I always had very nice experiences. She would say to me, ‘Leydi, you have a beautiful smile. You can make people happy just by smiling. You should do something like this.’ And to me, that was good enough! I always had a passion for helping people, and now I love what I do. I love my patients.”
For Leydi, it’s the personal connection that drives each visit. “Each patient has a different story. It’s a different adventure,” she says. “Their concerns might be different, but I’m very open and available for them all. I’m here for you—that’s it!”
