Hygienist Marva Charles lives her professional life by one golden rule: “I treat my patients exactly how I’d want them to treat me,” she says.
After 10 years as a dental assistant (as well as a mother to four children), Marva studied to become a hygienist so she could make more of a difference in her patients’ lives. “I know how it feels to be distrustful of going to the dentist,” she says. “That’s why it’s the best feeling when a patient tells me I helped restore their confidence in it. Nothing can replace that—I’m just totally in love with my profession!”
Between her empathetic attitude and her gentle approach to cleanings, her warm, outgoing personality shines through: “I’m going to do everything in my power to ensure you have a comfortable, pain-free experience. Hopefully you’ll even leave feeling like you made a new friend.”
