Originally from Michigan and North Carolina, hygienist Molly Walters is proud to be a New Yorker now. “I love the diversity here,” she says, “in my patients, but also in people’s interests. I love that nobody looks at me weird for being a dental hygienist who also loves rock climbing and watercolor painting.”
She also used to have quite the sweet tooth: “I had so many cavities on my baby teeth,” she says, “because I really liked chewing bubblegum. The dental assistant told me I had to stop eating candy and I didn’t listen to her at all. But I never had any bad experiences at the dentist. I always felt comfortable and taken care of.”
And she carries those positive experiences into her practice today. “The way I see it, dentistry is just another fact of life,” she says. “There are parts of our mouth that we need help taking care of, and it can absolutely be done in a way that’s unobtrusive, respectful, and maybe even a little fun. Good oral health is achievable for everyone, and I’d love to help you get there.”
