Most people either loved going to the dentist as a kid—or absolutely hated it. Where did you fall? How come?

I loved it — until I had to get a wiggly baby tooth taken out. I remember being SO nervous, but my dentist did an awesome job and I didn't feel a thing. My moment of fear turned into a fascination! A few years later, I decided I wanted to be a dentist.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

When patients say "phew, that was so much easier than I thought it was going to be." I love knowing that I was able to put someone at ease. Plus, relaxed patients are much more likely to laugh at my jokes!

What’s your dream toothpaste flavor?

Freshly-baked cinnamon roll with extra icing, of course.

What’s something your patients might be surprised to learn about you?

I'm a total plant lady. My collection is up to 25 and growing by the day. They're all so different and fascinating...I can't stop snatching up new ones!

What dental stereotype are you most passionate about changing?

That the dentist is going to be judgmental. Whatever brings you through the door, I'm happy you're here and I'm here to help.

When I’m in the patient chair, I’m probably grooving to {blank} in my headphones.

Lizzo! Although it takes some serious self-control to not sing along.
