Most people either loved going to the dentist as a kid—or absolutely hated it. Where did you fall? How come?

Well, my parents never took me to the dentist when I was a child but taking care of your oral hygiene was a daily topic in my household so that’s what sparked my interest and fascination with teeth.

What (or who) inspired you to get into dentistry? How so?

My mom inspired me although she never took me to the dentist. She was meticulous with my oral hygiene and I believe she was that way because she lost majority of her teeth before she turned 30 years old. She frequently spoke about taking care of your teeth that made me develop fascination with them. Because she didn’t have access to good dental care she made it her duty to educate her children and that made a huge impact in my life. Thanks mom.
