Most people either loved going to the dentist as a kid—or absolutely hated it. Where did you fall? How come?

I loved going to the dentist as a kid. I had orthodontic treatment as a child and my orthodontist was like a friend to me. Going to the dentist is like visiting a friend.

What (or who) inspired you to get into dentistry? How so?

My orthodontist inspired me to get in to dentistry. I think dentistry is a form of art, and I love art!

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

To turn a patient who has dental phohia into someone who looks forward to their future dental visits.

What’s something your patients might be surprised to learn about you?

I make resin art and artisan soap and have an Etsy shop.

How do you recharge after a long week? What’s your go-to activity for hitting the restart button?

A day at the beach.

What dental stereotype are you most passionate about changing?

Dentistry can be fun!

In another life, if you weren’t working in dentistry, what would you be doing?

I’d be a full-time small business owner creating resin art and soaps.
