Hygienist Yi Yi Chan, who goes by Chloe, was working a part-time job as a dental assistant when she decided to become a hygienist. She already had a business degree, but the office life wasn’t for her. “I just realized I was way more interested in dental hygiene,” she says. “Most people don’t have much knowledge about it, or they don’t really know how to care for their teeth, and I liked that I could help teach them.”

Chloe believes that knowledge is the best way to get her patients more invested in their own oral health. “Good oral hygiene is good for your entire body,” she says. “That’s what I want my patients to know. Everything you eat goes through your mouth, and if your mouth isn’t healthy, it can affect your overall health, too.”
