Most people either loved going to the dentist as a kid—or absolutely hated it. Where did you fall? How come?

I was scared to go to the dentist when I was a kid because I remember feeling pain from getting dental work done. But as I grew older, I became more courageous and enjoyed going (even though I was still a little nervous).

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

It is truly rewarding to see people leave the office relieved from excruciating pain, smiling, and ready to get back to their daily routine.

What’s your dream toothpaste flavor?

Anything chocolate...chocolate fudge, chocolate cake, chocolate pudding, etc. Sugar is the biggest enemy to teeth, but in the dream world I'm sure all chocolate would be sugar free, right?

How do you recharge after a long week? What’s your go-to activity for hitting the restart button?

After a long tiring week, I recharge by catching up on my sleep. Binge-watching YouTube and Netflix also helps.

What is the absolute coolest thing about the human mouth?

The absolute coolest thing about the human mouth is the power of healing. The human mouth is full of microorganisms (bacteria, viruses, fungi), but the wounds in the oral cavity heal faster than wounds in other parts of the body.

In another life, if you weren’t working in dentistry, what would you be doing?

I'd be a plastic surgeon. Just like teeth, many facial features like the nose or the eyes can impact what people perceive to be attractive. I would love to help people gain confidence by improving their appearance.
