Dr. Joel Ayon
Dr. Joel Ayon is a board-certified oral surgeon serving multiple Tend studios, including Flatiron, Wall Street, Grand Central, Upper West Side, and Park Slope. He earned his DDS from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, and is fluent in both English and Spanish, allowing him to connect with a wide range of patients.

I took my mother to this medical practice today, which was a refreshing change from our previous experiences. My mother, who doesn't speak English, often found it challenging to communicate at other clinics. However, this practice stood out by offering interpreter services, a feature we hadn't encountered elsewhere. This was a significant positive aspect for us. Additionally, I want to extend special thanks to the store manager, Leslie, and our hygienist Edith for her exceptional assistance throughout our visit.
The entire team was amazing, but my hygienist, Jose Contreras, was particularly incredible. As someone with pretty severe dental anxiety, he went above and beyond to soothe any concerns I had, and had a great personality and sense of humor, too. Can’t believe I’m actually looking forward to my next cleaning. Thank you to the whole team!
I had a great experience! I Came here for a cleaning/ general checkup. Doctor was very thorough and went through X-rays with me and answered all my questions. And the hygienist i had did an excellent job. He was super thoughtful and left my teeth sparkly clean without hurting me. And the office itself is adorable, it’s very clean and well decorated. Overall it was a great experience and I will be returning!

From the time I walked in to the time I walked out, a class act! II thought it was going to be really expensive and someone hovering over me just ringing up the cash register. This was not the case. If you don't need it, they won't push it on you, however, they give you the option and pricing up front.
It's a bonus that despite the swanky feel of the office and the really thoughtful service, they don't try to upsell you and the prices for out-of-pocket expenses are reasonable and discussed upfront.

This was truly the best experience I had at a dental office. After all of the many years of dental work I received. The office manager Kim assured me that I was in good hands with her team and Dr. The reception area and office are exclusively high class and in impeccable condition. Chelsea was a doll as she greeted all guests with a little kit to freshen up. Nia was caring and attentive while assisting the doctor with all my concerns. Dr. G was amazing and addressed all my concerns. Her plan was reassuring, and I left feeling great about the next steps and can't wait for my next appointment. This is an AMAZING team. I go to Tend in DC and honestly, it’s been the best dental experience I’ve had. Everyone there is super friendly and the whole place feels clean, modern, and calming. Dr. Soni is wonderful. She’s incredibly kind, gentle, and professional. I felt really taken care of, and she explained everything clearly without rushing. From The warm and friendly greeting at the door, to the Cleanliness of the facility, to the professionalism and warmth of the staff… Could not ask for more! Everything was explained in detail, from insurance to Out-of-pocket costs, everything was open and honest. I felt my service was extremely detailed and well executed.
This was my second time visiting and both times I experienced EXCEPTIONAL service. I did not wait more than 60 seconds to be taken tot the exam room. The hygienist was amazing and gentle. The office is modern and very clean. The receptionists are always pleasant and welcoming. I will definitely be a regular. Anddddd they used my preferred name.
First visit at TEND Navy Yard and I was blown away from the experience. You’re greeted on site by a friendly receptionist and met with a beautiful modern lounge. You receive a gift for your inaugural visit which was a nice surprise and there’s an app to follow appointments and visit notes. In closing, I was sent to the back in a timely manner by 9:30a which was my appointment, the monitor screen was very personal and welcoming. The orthodontist was extremely friendly and answered all my questions, I look forward to my next visit. I found my new home.
Staff is very professional, caring and knowledgeable. They have late hours that accommodates. I felt valued and they listened to all of my concerns. I would recommend this facility to all who want a modern professional place for all their dental care needs.
I booked my appointment online, put in my insurance info and found out how much I would have to pay for a cleaning (free!)... Then they went over my treatment plan and cost for getting my cavity filled (also free).

Really nice experience here. I was a little concerned that all the extra perks and comfort features may be surface level since that doesn’t necessarily indicate how good the service will be. But my dentist was 100% competent and capable and the team was really friendly both times I’ve been now. Impressed!
All of the staff at the Mosaic office were all so wonderful. They made sure I was comfortable and understand every step of the whitening process. I was their last client of the day and yet the hygienists offered me extra time to ensure I was satisfied with my results. Highly recommend Tend for any dental needs!

Absolutely. We partner with major dental insurers to get you amazing care at amazing prices. We also offer a real-time online benefits check before you come in. We’ll show you the maximum cost for your dental visit, so you’ll never pay more than you expect. We recommend coming in for a cleaning and checkup every six months, which is the standard for most patients. These regular visits help us catch small issues—like early signs of decay or gum disease—before they become more serious or expensive to treat.
However, some patients may need to come in more frequently, especially if they have a history of gum disease, wear orthodontic appliances like aligners, or are more prone to plaque buildup. Your first visit is designed to be both thorough and welcoming. Here’s what it includes:

We’ll also review your dental history, talk about your goals (whether it’s improving your oral health or brightening your smile), and give you time to ask questions—without feeling rushed.
The environment is designed to feel calm and spa-like, so you can relax and actually enjoy taking care of your smile.
Call us at 212-257-3455. Just make sure to do so more than 48 hours before your appointment time. If you cancel or reschedule less than 48 hours in advance, we’ll have to charge you a $50 fee. If you don’t make it at all, we’ll have to charge you a $100 fee. This is because we reserved that time specifically for you, and our appointments are in high demand.
