Used to go to a small, grimy dentist office on the UWS. Then I switched to Tend. This is a game changer! Friendly and professional staff (Therin at the front desk was super helpful!), modern equipment, clean and nicely decorated rooms and ambience. Will come back here, highly recommended!

My boyfriend is very hesitant about going to the dentist, and he had a decent amount of work to be done. They were wonderful at making him feel as comfortable as possible and worked with him at a pace he was comfortable with. Mary O., his dental hygienist, was absolutely amazing—she talked to both of us, laughed with us, and was so kind during the appointment, even though I was just there for emotional support. I am now planning on coming to this dentist as well.

I needed an emergency appointment due to painful swelling on the roof of my mouth and was able to get one the next day. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. Dr. Park was knowledgeable and made sure I understood everything about the procedure. He also ensured I was comfortable throughout. The office is impeccably clean and modern. Overall, it was an excellent experience, and I’m doing much better after the treatment!

Tend UWS responded to my dental emergency with care and compassion. While I experienced initial frustration with the administrative side of things, the extraordinarily high quality of the dental treatment I received is what's driving my 5-star review.

I had some issues with being late for an appointment (my fault) and wasn’t able to be seen, but they did their best to accommodate me, which I appreciated. On my second visit, I was seen by Mary Ojo, who was wonderful, reassuring, and personable. I highly recommend her.

Frequently asked questions
We know planning a visit comes with questions! Our FAQs below cover the important details and helpful tips for your time at Tend Dental Upper West Side.
Yes, we’re currently welcoming new patients at Tend Dental Upper West Side! Whether it’s been six months or six years since your last dental appointment, our team is here to help you feel comfortable. We take pride in providing a judgment-free environment where every patient is treated with empathy and respect.
Your first visit will include a comprehensive exam, a detailed review of your oral health, and time to talk through any concerns or goals you have. We’ll ensure you feel informed, comfortable, and fully supported from the moment you walk in.
You can securely pay your bill online with easy, encrypted options like HSA/FSA cards, credit or debit cards, Apple Pay/Google Pay, and more. Through our partner Cedar, you can view your insurance details, track balances, receive reminders, and even set up a custom 0% interest payment plan that fits your budget.
We also offer flexible financing through CareCredit, a healthcare-focused credit option that lets approved patients spread out their dental costs in convenient monthly payments, including for care not fully covered by insurance.
Before any treatment, we’ll clearly explain your expected costs and payment choices so you feel confident moving forward
You should aim to visit us for a cleaning and checkup every six months, which is the standard for most patients. These regular visits allow us to identify potential issues early, such as the first signs of decay or gum disease, allowing us to address them before they become more serious or costly to treat.
However, some patients may need to visit more frequently, especially if they have a history of gum disease, wear orthodontic appliances like aligners, or are more prone to plaque buildup. Your dentist will work closely with you to develop a personalized care plan tailored to your specific needs. This way, you'll always receive the perfect level of care exactly when you need it, making your dental experience as comfortable and effective as possible.
Even if everything looks great, cleanings help remove plaque and tartar that brushing and flossing alone can't remove, and they’re key to keeping your smile feeling fresh and looking its best.
Your first visit is designed to be both thorough and welcoming. From seamless booking to family-friendly touches, we’ve thought of everything to make your experience comfortable from the moment you arrive.
Here’s what it includes:
A complete oral exam to assess your teeth, gums, bite, and overall dental health
Digital X-rays for an in-depth look below the surface of your oral structures
A gentle, professional cleaning tailored to your needs
A one-on-one discussion with your dentist to discuss findings, answer questions, and develop a treatment plan
We’ll also review your dental history, talk about your goals (whether it’s improving your oral health or brightening your smile), and give you time to ask questions without feeling rushed.
The environment is designed to be calm and soothing, helping you relax and enjoy caring for your smile.
We accept many major dental insurance plans and help you make the most of your benefits.
Some of the many insurers that we partner with include Delta Dental, Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield, Guardian, MetLife, United Concordia, Principal, Oxford Health Plans, and Ameritas.
Contact us at (646) 561-9160. Please ensure that you do so more than 48 hours before your scheduled appointment time. That time is held specifically for you, and our appointments are in high demand. We appreciate as much notice as possible if you need to reschedule.
You can also log into your profile on the Tend app to make any changes needed, including cancelling and rescheduling.

Flossing once a day is one of the simplest ways to protect your smile, but there’s a little more to it than just going through the motions. Here’s what dentists recommend, why it works, and how to make it part of your routine.
Choosing a dentist for your family is a decision that shapes how your kids will feel about dental visits well into adulthood, and how easy it is to maintain your family's oral health over time. So instead of asking, “Which dentist is closest?” a better question might be: Which one actually fits how we live?
What if feeling exhausted wasn’t just “part of life”? For many people, treating sleep apnea is a turning point. one that can lead to more consistent energy, clearer thinking, and a renewed sense of feeling like themselves again.
