I had my doubts about a boutique dentist but tend surpassed my expectations! The service was great! My hygienist was friendly and gentle and explained everything clearly every step of the way. I am actually a little apprehensive of the dentist and was nervous from the moment I walked through the door. But my hygienist was calm and talked me through what they would be working on that day. I got my exam and cleaning. Midway through my dentist came in to explain my X-rays and the plan I would be on for the next couple visits. Once the cleaning was over I met with someone who explained my plan in detail and how I can edit my plan at anytime to fit my schedule or financial needs. I’m thrilled by my experience.
I had my wisdom teeth removed today and it was painless. The overall procedure felt quick. The staff are so polite! Thanks, everyone for making my first time a breeze.

Great experience getting a tooth filling redone in my first visit. Both the doctor and dental hygienist were super friendly and made the procedure quick and easy. Although my insurance is paying for most of the treatment, I really appreciate how upfront and straightforward they are about the cost of the treatment.
First visit at TEND Navy Yard and I was blown away from the experience. You’re greeted on site by a friendly receptionist and met with a beautiful modern lounge. You receive a gift for your inaugural visit which was a nice surprise and there’s an app to follow appointments and visit notes. In closing, I was sent to the back in a timely manner by 9:30a which was my appointment, the monitor screen was very personal and welcoming. The orthodontist was extremely friendly and answered all my questions, I look forward to my next visit. I found my new home.
When I came in, the team was so gentle with my cleaning and I never felt judged. I didnt get flossed shamed and when it came time to review my teeth, [the dentist] took the time to show me my xrays, where my cavity was (no dentist has ever done this for me) which I really appreciated.
I went to tend for a cleaning for the first time recently and they did an excellent job. My hygienist, Gabby, was very friendly and accommodating. She was very gentle with my teeth and made sure to check in throughout the cleaning to see if I was experiencing any sensitivity or pain. They also handled my insurance very well and informed me of the cost breakdown ahead of time. Overall I am very happy with the service I received and the price that I paid

Best dental office experience I have ever had. HANDS DOWN. They have top of the line tech which made everything such a smooth experience, but mostly the staff goes above and beyond to be helpful and kind—from the front desk associate to the dentist all around great treatment. My dental hygienist, Kim was so attentive and you can tell he truly cares about his job. He went above and beyond to make sure my concerns were addressed even though I arrived a little late (someone give him a raise ASAP!!) I had a really nice experience at Tend - from a comprehensive scheduling process, to them running my insurance ahead of time so I knew exactly what was covered, to a great cleaning and quick dentist visit. When the dentist suggested a nightguard I was immediately told what my insurance would cover for that, so I could make my decision with all of the facts. Very happy with my experience.
I don’t have enough good things to say about Tend. I have had a history of dental anxiety but now for the first time in my life, I look forward to going to the dentist. My first time at Tend and I’m glad I followed through with my appointment. Their office is really nice and clean and everyone was really friendly. My hygienist and Dentist were Shacore and Dr. Abernathy and they were both amazing. Shacore made me laugh the entire time and tried her best to make me feel comfortable. I would definitely go back.
The cleanest & most welcoming facility! I have seen two dentists- both were quick, thorough, and communicated with me throughout my visit. Dr. Alexa even hummed (v well!) through my fillings 😂 She took the extra time to floss my fluoride treatment through my teeth, even though it was a particularly busy morning. Also- the toothbrushes in their guest bags are the best. Highly recommend!
I recently joined as a new patient. I got a cleaning, and then a few fillings shortly thereafter. My experiences have been amazing. The staff are very friendly and welcoming yet also professional, you get to watch TV while they're doing the work, the office is very modern and elegant, and I especially felt welcomed as a queer person. - Digital x-rays for a detailed look below the surface (with significantly lower radiation than traditional x-rays)
- A gentle, professional cleaning tailored to your needs
- A one-on-one conversation with your dentist, who will walk you through any findings, answer your questions, and create a treatment plan if needed
We’ll also review your dental history, talk about your goals (whether it’s improving your oral health or brightening your smile), and give you time to ask questions—without feeling rushed.
The environment is designed to feel calm and spa-like, so you can relax and actually enjoy taking care of your smile.
We recommend coming in for a cleaning and checkup every six months, which is the standard for most patients. These regular visits help us catch small issues—like early signs of decay or gum disease—before they become more serious or expensive to treat.
However, some patients may need to come in more frequently, especially if they have a history of gum disease, wear orthodontic appliances like aligners, or are more prone to plaque buildup. Your dentist will work with you to create a personalized care plan based on your needs, so you’re always getting the right level of care at the right time.
Even if everything looks great, cleanings help remove plaque and tartar that you can’t get rid of with brushing and flossing alone—and they’re key to keeping your smile feeling fresh and looking its best.
Call us at 212-257-3455. Just make sure to do so more than 48 hours before your appointment time. If you cancel or reschedule less than 48 hours in advance, we’ll have to charge you a $50 fee. If you don’t make it at all, we’ll have to charge you a $100 fee. This is because we reserved that time specifically for you, and our appointments are in high demand.
