How to care for your temporary veneers

We hope you enjoy this preview of your new smile! Temporary veneers can cause a little bit of sensitivity.

This usually goes away after a couple of days. If an over-the-counter pain reliever doesn't do it for you, or if you're still uncomfortable after 48 hours, just get in touch. Here's how to keep your temporary veneers in good shape.

Don't eat anything hard

Your temporary veneers are delicate, so biting into hard foods could break them. Avoid hard foods like granola, raw vegetables, hard candy, popcorn kernels, and pieces of ice.

Don't eat anything sticky, chewy, or gummy

Your temporary veneers aren't permanently attached to your teeth, so anything that clings to them could pull them off. Avoid sticky foods like taffy and caramel, chewy foods like bagels and steak, and gummy foods like gummy candy and chewing gum.

What daily hygiene looks like with temporary veneers

Your temporary veneers are all connected, so you won't be able to floss. Because you can't floss, you'll need to be very diligent with brushing! Until you get your permanent veneers, you should also use an over-the-counter antibacterial mouthwash so your gums stay clean and healthy.

What to do if your temporary veneers chip

Sometimes, temporary veneers can chip. Don't worry, this is very easy to fix. If it happens, just let us know. We'll see you soon for your next visit!
