Care that reaches to the source of your discomfort

When tooth pain strikes, it can be a sign of infection, inflammation, or nerve damage deep within the tooth. Endodontic care focuses on diagnosing and treating these problems, relieving pain, addressing infection, and preserving your natural tooth whenever possible.

At Tend, our general dentists provide a range of endodontic services. With a comfort-first approach, your Tend dentist can diagnose tooth pain, treat early infection, and perform root canal treatment, often relieving discomfort without the need for a specialist.

For complex cases, our board-certified endodontists are available to deliver the specialist care you need to smile comfortably again. Through coordinated care with your general dentist, your endodontist will ensure you receive the right level of care, whether that's same-day treatment or a long-term plan centered on improving overall oral health.

Our Endodontic Services

What is endodontics?

Endodontics is the diagnosis and treatment of problems originating inside the tooth, especially the dental pulp and root canals. Treatment options include:

  • Routine root canal therapy

Root canal therapy is an endodontic treatment used to remove infection from inside a tooth when the inner tissue becomes damaged or inflamed. By treating the problem at its source, the procedure relieves pain, stops the spread of infection, and preserves your natural tooth.

  • Emergency root canal treatment

An emergency root canal is performed right away, when pain or infection can’t wait. Signs you may need an emergency root canal include sudden, severe tooth pain, swelling, an abscess, or signs that an infection is spreading. Emergency care focuses on stopping pain fast, controlling infection, and stabilizing the tooth.

  • Root canal retreatment

When a previously treated tooth becomes reinfected or doesn’t heal as expected, a root canal retreatment is required. In this procedure, the endodontist or dentist reopens the tooth, removes the old filling material, cleans and disinfects the root canals again, and reseals the tooth. Retreatment is often the first option when a root canal needs further care.

  • Endodontic microsurgery

Endodontic microsurgery is recommended when retreatment isn’t possible or hasn’t resolved the problem. Instead of entering through the tooth, the endodontist accesses the infection through the surrounding gum and bone, removing infected tissue at the tip of the root using microscope-guided precision, allowing the tooth to be preserved when internal treatment alone isn’t enough.

  • Treatment of dental trauma

Endodontic treatment for dental trauma focuses on stabilizing and protecting an injured tooth after an accident or impact, relieving pain, preventing infection, and giving your natural tooth the best chance to heal and stay strong.

  • Internal tooth bleaching

Internal tooth bleaching is a specialized endodontic treatment used to gently brighten a tooth from the inside after root canal care, restoring a more natural, even appearance while preserving the tooth’s structure.

Comfortable, stress-free root canal therapy

The most common endodontic treatment, a root canal is a dental procedure used to treat infection or damage deep inside the tooth.

At Tend, root canal care is grounded in a comfort-first, patient-centered approach combining clear communication, modern techniques, and expert clinical judgment to make treatment a calm experience. Our goal is always to address pain at its source while preserving your natural tooth and supporting long-term oral health.

Steps of a root canal include:

  • Removal of infection: Infected or inflamed tissue is carefully removed from inside the tooth using precise, modern tools.
  • Cleaning and disinfection: The root canals are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected to eliminate bacteria.
  • Sealing and protection: The tooth is sealed to prevent future infection and restore long-term stability.

  • Tend did a great job in properly and thoughtfully updating how people experience dentist appointments. Truly modernized to avoid any headache with getting an appointment booked. As a new customer I had a quick and seamless process when I arrived with minimal paperwork. The east village location was bright, clean, and welcoming. Staff was great from the assistants to the doctor. Service was top notch and I’ll be going back for additional work.

  • This was the best cleaning of my life! No joke, I want to go back there tomorrow. It was great not just in the time and dedication I felt as a patient, but also the attitude, friendliness, straight forward staff and process. Also, the place looks like a spa. I totally felt like I was there for a pampering session. I honestly can’t wait to go back.

  • The BEST ‘going to the dentist’ experience I have ever had. Went for a general cleaning; the office was beautiful, the staff was nice and knowledgeable and I left with a great bag of goodies. It is really true that the practice is centered around the idea of ‘comfort’- I felt like I was at a spa in all honesty - There were amenities everywhere. Would recommend to any of my friends.
