The entire staff was very welcoming and warm. I love the ambiance this place has; it makes appointments feel more like self-care than a scary task. I’m not excited about the work I have to get done, but Tend makes it better. Special thanks to Kanesha for her patience and kindness. Keep bringing joy to Tend!

First time at the dentist in years, and I’m surprised things went as well as they did, even though I’ve been brushing and flossing regularly. I knew I had some unresolved dental issues dating back 10+ years, but Joshua and Dr. S were the first to really suggest long-term treatment options. I’m not looking forward to some of it, but I’m glad someone cared enough to put together a treatment plan. Very clean facility and professional staff.

I’ve been with Tend for over three years now, and I’ve always had a great experience. The staff, hygienists, and dentists are consistently attentive. The hygienists are thorough and careful, and they are patient when answering my questions.

Fantastic visit. The front desk staff, intake coordinator, hygienist, and dentist were all wonderful. I wish I had their names to give them a shoutout. I’ve had mixed experiences here in the past, but today was great.

Our team at Tend Dental 14th and U is always happy to welcome new patients! Regardless of how long it's been since your last dental appointment, we are here to make you feel at ease. We pride ourselves on creating a judgment-free environment where every patient is treated with empathy and respect.
Your first visit will include a comprehensive exam, a detailed review of your oral health, and time to talk through any concerns or goals you have. We’ll do everything we can to ensure that you feel informed, comfortable, and fully supported from the moment you walk in.
Our dental professionals recommend that most patients come in for a cleaning and exam every six months. These regular visits help us catch small issues, such as early signs of decay or gum disease, before they become more serious or expensive to treat.
Sometimes, we may ask patients to visit more often, especially if they have a history of gum disease, wear orthodontic appliances like aligners, or are more prone to plaque buildup. Your dentist will work with you to create a personalized care plan based on your needs, so you’re always getting the right level of care at the right time.
Even if everything looks great, cleanings help remove plaque and tartar that brushing and flossing alone can't remove, and they’re key to keeping your smile fresh and looking its best.
Your first visit is designed to be comprehensive and welcoming. Here’s what you can expect:
A complete dental exam to assess your teeth, gums, bite, and overall oral health
Digital X-rays provide detailed dental images with considerably less radiation than traditional X-rays
A gentle, professional cleaning that is tailored to meet your unique needs
A one-on-one conversation with your dentist, who will walk you through any findings, answer your questions, and create a treatment plan if needed
We’ll also review your dental history, talk about your goals (whether it’s improving your oral health or brightening your smile), and provide you with enough time to ask questions.
The environment at our soothing studio is designed to feel calm, so you can relax and actually enjoy taking care of your smile.
Please, give us a call at (202) 455-6918 if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Just make sure to do so more than 48 hours before your appointment time. We reserve that time specifically for you, and our appointments are in high demand, so we appreciate as much notice as possible if you need to reschedule.
You can also log into your profile on the Tend app to make any changes needed, including cancelling and rescheduling.

Choosing a dentist for your family is a decision that shapes how your kids will feel about dental visits well into adulthood, and how easy it is to maintain your family's oral health over time. So instead of asking, “Which dentist is closest?” a better question might be: Which one actually fits how we live?
